The beautiful maiden, foreign to this earth, aims to conquer with her beauty.
Taken aback by the earth’s splendor, the maiden stops in awe and wonder.
From the roots below and petals wide, a creature stirs, unseen, untied.
Kiko, the keeper of nature’s grace, rises softly in a slow embrace.
Vines entwine, her breath grows deep, purple skin now laced in greens.
What once was hers is not her own—the earth reclaims, the Melo Maiden gone.

In collaboration with fashion designer Ana Beza, Art Toys PH invited me to customize the Melo Maiden toy. This being my first sculpture and first work of 2025, I wanted to start strong. I incorporated my 'Kiko' character and other elements that are distinguishably Keziah Kitsche. On top of the resin, I used epoxy putty and painted it with acrylic. I added in a touch of actual highlighter makeup to get that glittery glow going on her skin.
I came up with the concept of this alien-like woman (the Melo Maiden) coming to earth wanting to conquer the land only to be taken over by mother nature. This was a really fun project to work on, albeit a messy one! Regardless, it's something that I want to explore further this year.
